To obtain family housing at Sheppard Air Force Base with Balfour Beatty Communities, please follow the instructions below:

Step 1

Call or visit the Military Housing Office, located in Bldg 373 at the corner of “H” Ave. and 3rd St.  Their Contact number is 940-676-1840 or DSN 736-1840. The Military Housing Office will need the following documents:

• A complete Balfour Beatty Communities application (found under Forms and Guides on this website)
• A Copy of your orders to Sheppard AFB.
• If your orders do not include your dependants they will need additional documents

The Military Housing Office will supply you with a temporary referral letter with a projected eligibility date.

Step 2

E-Mail, fax or hand carry the application, copy of orders and the referral letter to the Balfour Beatty Communities Management Office located at 505 Nehls Blvd., Sheppard AFB, TX 76311.  Our phone number is 877-323-3889. A Resident Specialist will assist you from there, where you will be placed on the projected waitlist.

Step 3

Once you arrive at the base, you must take a copy of your orders to the Military Housing Office in order to have your housing referral verified.  Once this is done, please proceed to Balfour Beatty Communities Management Office. 

The following information is provided for your convenience:

• Once you have arranged phone service please provide our office with the number.
  
• Renter’s Insurance: additional renter’s insurance is recommended.
  
• Heat, Water, Electric, and Trash Pickup: are all included in your BAH.
  
• Move in Day: Lease Signing and Move-in orientations are usually scheduled in advance during normal business hours. Please call our office at 877-323-3889 to reserve a move-in time that would be most convenient for you. Please allow 45-60 minutes to review and sign all the necessary paperwork.
  
• You will need to provide a copy of a current LES statement
  Please remember that we will prorate the rent for the month you move in and that all monies for that month are due at move in and must be paid by CERTIFIED FUND or CREDIT CARD. (i.e. cashiers check, money order or bank draft) The allotment option can only be started on the 1st of the month and will be withdrawn twice from your LES on the 15th and 1st of every month as allotments are paid in arrears.
  
• Lease Agreement: Lease is for 12 months. Please do not hesitate to ask the Resident Specialist, assisting with your orientation about anything you do not fully understand.
  
• Box Disposal: After unpacking your boxes, please remember to flatten them and dispose of them with your recyclables.
  
• If a spouse is signing on behalf of the Service Member, a SPECIAL power of attorney will be required.
